The short answer
In Stock, tap New Stock Item, choose its stock category and the unit you count it in, and set a reorder point, which is when Walnut tells you to buy more. To track a drink you sell as it arrives, make it a Simple menu item and link its stock when you create it, so every sale takes one bottle off your stock.
The £0 plan holds 100 stock items. WalnutPOS tells you when you reach it, and nothing is deleted. Advanced removes the limit. See every limit

Step by step
Everything said in the video, chapter by chapter. Each time opens the video at that moment on YouTube.
0:00By the end of this video, you'll be able to add a stock item, choose its unit, set when to reorder, and link a drink to it.
Make a stock category
0:15Open Category, and switch to Stock Categories. These are kept apart from your menu categories, so your customers never see them. Tap Add Category, and give it a name. We'll call it Bottled Drinks. Tap Create Category.
Add a stock item
0:42Open Stock, and tap New Stock Item. Name it the way it arrives from your supplier. Two items can't share a name. Choose its stock category. Now the unit. This is how you count it, so pick it with care. Use kilograms or litres for things you weigh or pour. For things you count, like bottles, choose Unit.
1:07The reorder point is when Walnut tells you to buy more. We'll say twelve bottles. Tap Create Item. On the Free plan, you can have up to a hundred stock items.
Read the stock list
1:25Here it is in your stock list. Under the stock level, you can see the reorder point. A new item starts empty, so it shows Out of Stock. This link takes you straight to recording a purchase. Logging a delivery has its own video.
Link a drink to its stock
1:48Open Menu Item, and tap New Menu Item. Name it, and choose Simple. Simple is for things you sell just as they arrive. Pick its stock item. Now every sale takes one bottle off your stock. Choose the link now. It can't be added or changed once the item is saved. Walnut won't make a stock item for you, so without a link, selling it won't change your stock.
2:16Add the price and category, as in the menu items video. Tap Create Menu Item, and it's saved. Dishes made from several ingredients don't link like this. They use a recipe instead.
Recap
2:35To recap. Make a stock category under Category, Stock Categories. In Stock, tap New Stock Item, choose its category and its unit, and set a reorder point. A new item starts out of stock. And to track a drink you sell as it arrives, make it a Simple menu item, and link its stock when you create it.
2:54Thanks for watching. Next, add your suppliers, then log your first delivery, so your stock has a real count. Start free at walnutpos.com.
