Terms of service
Last updated 28 August 2026
Who you are contracting with
These terms are between you (the business creating the account) and Tahseen Dar, trading as WalnutPOS, Beeston, Nottingham, United Kingdom. By creating an account you accept them. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.
The service
Walnut is a cloud point-of-sale system: a till that runs on your own devices, a kitchen display, printing through our print agent, an online ordering page under your restaurant’s name at walnutpos.com, inventory, staff accounts and reporting. Walnut records card payments you take on your existing card machine; it does not process those payments unless you enable card payments through Stripe inside Walnut.
Plans and prices
- Free plan: £0 per month for one location. It includes unlimited orders, menu items, staff accounts and online orders, one kitchen display station, and the limits shown on the pricing page (recipes, stock items, suppliers, customers).
- We will keep the Free plan free for a single location. If we ever change what it includes, we will give you at least 60 days’ notice by email before the change applies.
- Advanced plan: £100 per month per business, inclusive of any VAT we are required to charge, billed monthly, no minimum term. You can cancel at any time and the plan runs to the end of the paid month.
- There is no contract term, no hardware rental and no per-till fee on either plan.
Free setup visits (Nottingham, 2026)
Where we offer a free in-person setup visit, it is available to the first 20 restaurants in the Nottingham area to book before 31 October 2026, is subject to a mutually agreed date, and covers one afternoon (about two hours) to set up the till, kitchen display, printing and ordering page with your staff. It does not include hardware. It creates no obligation on you to use Walnut afterwards.
Your data and your responsibilities
- Your business data (menu, orders, customers, staff) belongs to you. You can export it or ask us for a copy at any time, and we will provide it within 30 days.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of prices, VAT settings, allergen information and receipts you issue, and for complying with the law that applies to your business.
- You must keep your login details secure and make sure each member of staff uses their own account.
- Walnut is not a tax, accounting or legal service; reports are provided to help you run the business.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep Walnut available at all times and the till keeps taking orders offline, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for loss of profit or indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time from the settings page or by emailing support@walnutpos.com. We may suspend or close an account that is used unlawfully or abusively, giving notice where reasonable. After closure we keep your data for 12 months so you can recover it, then delete it, except where tax law requires longer retention.
