How to sign up for WalnutPOS and create your store

Create your account

0:15On the sign-up page, you can sign up with Google, or with your email. We'll use email. The bar at the top shows the four steps: your details, your email, your account type, and your store. Type your full name, then choose a username.

0:33Add your work email, and a phone number. Choose a password of at least eight characters, with a capital letter, a small letter, a number and a symbol. Then type it again. If someone gave you a referral code, click Have a referral code, and add it. If not, skip it.

0:53Then click Create account. Creating an account means you accept the terms of service and the privacy policy, linked just below.

Confirm your email

1:06Walnut sends a link to the email you gave. The link lasts twenty-four hours, and if it doesn't arrive, you can send it again. Open the email from WalnutPOS, and click Verify my email. Your email is confirmed. Click Continue, or wait a moment, and Walnut moves you on.

Choose Business owner

1:29If you work for someone else's business, you don't sign up here. Your manager adds you, and you get a set-up email. You run the business, so pick Business owner, then click Continue.

Create your store

1:44Choose your type of business. We'll keep Restaurant. Type your store's name. The country is already the United Kingdom, with pounds sterling. If you change the country, the currency changes with it. Add your business phone number, then click Create store.

2:02Walnut sets up your store, and opens your dashboard.

Your setup checklist

2:07Finally, your setup checklist. Setup comes in five phases. Phase one gets you ready to take orders. Phase one has six tasks, and the card shows roughly how many minutes are left. Each task ticks itself off once the work is done, and clicking a task takes you straight there.
