How to find your way around WalnutPOS

The sidebar

0:14The sidebar on the left has an icon for each part of the back office. Hover over an icon to see its name. Or click the menu button at the top left, and the names appear. The icons come in groups. At the top: your account, your orders, and feedback.

0:30Next, your sales. Receipt shows every order as a receipt. Then reports, top performers, and menu engineering. Then your menu: categories, menu items, recipes, and discounts. Then stock, and your suppliers. Then money: accounting, spending, store credit, gift cards, and the cash drawer.

0:50Then people: your team, their schedules, and your customers. And last, store setup: your store, your tables, and your kitchen stations.

The top bar

1:05Click the logo at any time to come back to your dashboard. In the middle are four shortcuts: Dashboard, Order Online, POS, and Settings. On the right, this button shows which store you're working in. Click it to choose a store.

1:20Your initial opens a menu. Jump to the POS, come back to the Back Office, or log out.

The POS screen

1:30Click POS to open the screen you take orders on. On the left, you'll see your store's name, and who's signed in, with their role. Across the top: POS for taking orders, then customers, receipts, online orders, the kitchen display, and Back Office to go back.

1:48On the right, a green dot means you're online. When your printer is connected, it says Printer ready. Click Back Office to return to the back office.

On your phone

2:02On a phone, the back office has a bar along the bottom: Dashboard, Order Online, POS, and Settings. Tap the menu button for everything else in the sidebar. On the POS screen, the menu button lists the POS pages, and lets you switch store.
