The short answer
On your setup checklist, Complete your business profile opens your store, where you add your phone number, email and logo and click Save store. Then in Settings, check your time zone and currency, switch on Enable tax, type your VAT rate, choose whether your prices include VAT, and click Save changes.

Your business profile
0:12On your setup checklist, click Complete your business profile. It opens your store's details. Your store name is the name printed on your receipts. Add the number customers can call, and your email. Both are printed on your receipts.
0:28Your address and map pin are for online ordering. We cover them in their own video. Then add your logo. Click Add logo, and pick a JPEG, PNG or WebP image, up to two megabytes. On the right, you can see how your ordering page will look. It updates as you type.
0:47Click Save store. Your logo now shows on your receipts, and on your ordering page. Back on your dashboard, the checklist ticks this task off. Your business has a name and a logo.
Currency and regional
1:05Click Settings in the top bar. You'll start on General settings. Your currency was set when you created your store. Check your time zone, your currency, and the date format. If you ever change the currency, Walnut also sets the usual tax rate for it. So check your VAT afterwards.

VAT
1:33A new business starts with tax turned off. Switch on Enable tax. Keep Percentage, and type your VAT rate. We'll use twenty percent. Leave Prices include VAT on if your menu prices already include VAT. Walnut works out the VAT inside each price.
1:53The tax label is the name printed on your receipts. Then click Save changes, in the bar at the bottom. New orders use your new VAT settings. Orders that are already open keep the rate they started with.
