The short answer
In Settings, Receipt and printing tells you whether the Print Service, a small program that runs on the computer your receipt printer is connected to, is on this computer, and links to the download. Pick your printer's make and connection, type its address, choose your paper width, add your receipt message, and click Save Settings.

Get the Print Service
0:14In the back office, open Settings, then Receipt and printing. Your store's name, address and logo come from your Store page, linked here. This page is for your printer and your receipt message. Walnut prints receipts through the Print Service. It's a small program that runs on the computer your receipt printer is connected to.
0:33This computer doesn't have it yet, and the page says so. Click Download the print service. There are versions for Windows, Mac and Linux. If your till is a Windows PC, choose Download for Windows. Install it on the computer your printer is connected to. When it's running, the note on the settings page turns green.
Add your receipt printer
0:56Pick your printer's make. Ours is an Epson. If your printer is plugged into your network, choose Network. For a USB printer installed on the computer, choose System Printer instead, and pick it from the list. Type the printer's address in the format shown under the box: TCP, then its IP address and port.
1:22Test print sends a real test receipt. It switches on once the Print Service is running on this computer. Choose your paper width, eighty or fifty-eight millimetres. Font size sets how big your receipt text prints.
Your receipt message
1:41Type a message for the bottom of every receipt. Click Preview Receipt to check it. Your message is at the bottom, and the VAT line follows your own VAT settings. Close the preview, and click Save Settings. Adding a receipt message also ticks Set up your receipt on your setup checklist.
2:08Now, when you print a receipt from the till, the Print Service sends it to this printer, with your message at the bottom.
