The short answer
Turn on a service charge in Settings and set up your delivery zones on the Store tab, then choose Dine In, Takeaway or Delivery on the till. Dine-in orders get your service charge, takeaway is just the items, and delivery adds the fee for the customer's zone, worked out from their address.

0:00Let's take three kinds of order on the till at Lena's: dine-in with a service charge, takeaway, and delivery with a delivery fee.
Turn on a dine-in service charge
0:18In the back office, open Settings. You start on General Settings. Find the Service Charge card, and switch it on. Drag the slider to set your rate. We'll use ten percent. Save your changes. The service charge only applies to dine-in orders.
Set up your delivery zones
0:42Delivery fees come from your delivery zones, on the Store tab. This store has no zones yet, so tap Add Zone. Each zone is a distance ring around your store, with its own fee and minimum order. Give it a name. This first zone covers up to a mile away. Delivery costs three pounds, with a fifteen pound minimum order.
1:15Add a second zone for further out, from one to three miles, at four pounds fifty. Addresses beyond your last zone can't order delivery. Now switch delivery on, and save your settings.
Ring up a dine-in order
1:46Now on the till screen, choose Dine In, then tap Select Ticket Slot. Pick the table. This one is table two. Tap a dish to add it. We'll start with a classic beef burger. Some items ask a question first. Wine comes by the glass or the bottle, so pick one, then add it.
2:07Drinks work the same way. Here's a Mai Tai, from the cocktail menu. Because it's dine-in, the ten percent service charge is added automatically. Tap Charge to take payment. Twenty-nine pounds ninety for the food and drinks, plus two pounds ninety-nine service charge, makes thirty-two pounds eighty-nine.
2:33Cash is already selected. Tap the exact amount, then Charge. Paid. Tap Start new sale, and the till is ready for the next order.
Ring up a takeaway order
2:49This time, choose Takeaway. Ring up the order just like before. Takeaway has no service charge. The customer pays for the items only. So the total is sixteen pounds twenty. Take payment the same way.
Ring up a delivery order
3:27For delivery, choose Delivery, and tap Assign Customer. This customer is new, so tap New Customer. Type in their name and phone number. Then search for their address, and pick it from the list. The address fills in, and a pin drops on the map. That pin is how the till works out the delivery fee.
3:59Add the house number, and tap Create Customer. They're saved now, so tap Add to Order. Ring up the order. The delivery fee comes from Emma's address. She's within a mile, so it's the three pound zone fee. Twenty-two pounds, plus three pounds, makes twenty-five pounds.
4:33Take payment, and the delivery order is done.
Recap
4:43To recap. Dine-in orders get your service charge. Takeaway is just the items. And delivery adds the fee for the customer's zone. Thanks for watching. Start free at walnutpos.com, and subscribe for the next tutorial.
