How to run a customer tab and take payment later in WalnutPOS

Tab or open ticket?

0:09First, the difference. An open ticket keeps the bill open while the customer is still here. A tab is for regulars who pay later. The bill closes tonight, and what they owe is kept on their account. Here's Olivia's bar tab. She's heading home, and she'll settle up next week.

Put the bill on her tab

0:30Tap Charge. Defer is greyed out, because a tab needs a customer. Tap Add customer, and search for Olivia. She's on the bill now, and Defer is ready. Tap Defer. You'll see who it's for, the amount, and when it's due: thirty days from today.

1:01The sale closes and the stock comes off now. Only the money is outstanding. Tap Confirm Deferred Payment. That's on her account. And because the bill's closed, it's no longer in your open tickets.

See what she owes

1:21Now let's see what she owes. In your customer list, the Owed column shows it straight away. Open Details. Her outstanding balance is at the top. Outstanding Payments lists each unpaid tab, with what she's paid, what's left, and the due date.

She pays some of it

1:44A few days later, Olivia pops in and pays twenty pounds. Tap Record Payment. It starts with the full balance. She's paying part of it, so type twenty. You'll see what's left after this payment. Choose cash or card. Record it. The tab is now partly paid, and the rest is still on her account.

Her account history

2:04Account Activity shows every charge and payment. It keeps a running balance, so you can both see where things stand.
