The short answer
In the sidebar, open Employee and click Invite teammate, choose how they join, type their name and email, pick a role, and add their pay. They get an email to set a password, and until they do, your team list shows Invite pending.

Send the invite
0:16In the sidebar, Employee opens your team. Click Invite teammate. First, how should they join? Send an invite keeps their account pending until they set a password. Add them now makes them active straight away. Either way, they get an email to set their own password.
0:34Works shifts is for staff who work shifts and get paid a wage. Access only is for someone who just needs a login. Type their name and email. Pick a role. Nothing is picked for you. We'll make Priya a cashier. Roles get their own video.
0:52On the right is the email Priya will get, with her role, and what happens after you send it. The role sets her starting permissions. Priya can use the till with a PIN, but not the back office. You can change any of them.
1:07Now, her pay. Open Pay, keep Hourly, and type thirteen pounds an hour. Pick her payday: the twenty-eighth of each month. Pay starts today, and you can change it any time from her profile. The bar at the bottom sums it up. Click Send invite.
1:31Priya is on your team. She's pinned at the top, marked New, with Invite pending, and the date her link expires.
Waiting for them
1:43Open her profile. Until Priya sets a password, this banner says she hasn't set up her account, and when her link expires. If she can't find the email, click Resend invite. You can also cancel the invite here. Her pay is already saved. Thirteen pounds an hour, paid on the twenty-eighth of each month.
What your teammate receives
2:08Priya gets an email from WalnutPOS. It says who added her, and as what, with a button to set up her account. The link expires after fourteen days. The button opens this page. It shows where she's joining, and the email she'll sign in with. She types a password, then types it again.
2:27It needs at least eight characters, with a capital letter, a small letter, a number and a symbol. Each rule ticks as she meets it. She clicks Set password and sign in. She's signed in, and on her way to WalnutPOS.
