The short answer
In Recipe, open Batch Recipes, tap Create Batch Recipe, set the yield, add the ingredients, and Walnut works out the cost per litre. Each time you make a batch, tap Record Production, and the ingredients come off your stock and the sauce goes on.

Step by step
Everything said in the video, chapter by chapter. Each time opens the video at that moment on YouTube.
0:00By the end of this video, you'll be able to cost something you make ahead, like a sauce, and record each time you make it.
Create a batch recipe
0:20In Recipe, open Batch Recipes. These are for things you make in bulk, like sauces and doughs. Tap Create Batch Recipe. Give it a name. Walnut will make a stock item with the same name. Now the yield. That's how much one batch makes. Ours makes five litres.
0:42Add the ingredients for one batch, the same way as a dish recipe. Six tins, a little oil, and a kilo of onions. Walnut adds it up, and shows the cost per litre. Here, one pound fifty-two. Tap Create Batch Recipe. Here it is in your batch recipes, with its yield and what one batch costs.
Record a production
1:25Tap Record Production. Pick the recipe. Enter how much you made. Today we made a double batch, ten litres. Walnut scales the ingredients for you, and shows what this batch cost. Tap Record Production. The ingredients come off your stock, and the sauce goes on.
See it in your stock
1:58Here's the sauce, ten litres. And twelve tins have come off your tomatoes. Then tap Productions. It lists every batch you've made, and how many litres of each are left.
Recap
2:14To recap. In Recipe, open Batch Recipes, and tap Create Batch Recipe. Set the yield, add the ingredients, and Walnut works out the cost per litre. Each time you make it, tap Record Production. The ingredients come off your stock, and the sauce goes on.
